Art Deco Drinks Cabinet
This 1930’s Art Deco drinks cabinet has been transformed by overlaying a variety of materials and methods. These include fabric, silver leaf, paper, paint, block printing and French polish. The end result is dramatic, with rippling textures and lots of bling. The fun part is that the piece transforms, depending on the lighting. By day tones are softer and by night the contrasts pop.
When open, the top cabinet, with handy pull out shelf, is surfaced with mirror and the original Art Deco lemon yellow glass. The bottom cabinet sports a wine wrack and pull out tray. This interior was restored and French polished by www.antiquerestoration.co.za.
This Art Deco Drinks Cabinet displays the original maker’s mark. Duros was a well known furniture manufacturer of the time.
